Deivathin Kural Series - 11
Deivathin Kural 11 of 21 June 2006.
Om Namah Sivaya.
1. When we see with Gnana and Awareness, whatever we see will be seen to be full of bliss. This bliss or Anandam, is endless. True knowledge shows everything to be blissful. Anandam is boundless. It is everywhere. So is Gnanam or Awareness, boundless and everywhere. Boundless and endless things can not be two. So they are the same. Identical. Anandam and Awareness are identical. Upanishad says, '.......aanandam brhma iti vyajananath.............', Anandam is known to be Brhmam. Anandam, Awareness, Brhmam, Atma...........are all one and the same. Since there is no place where it is not there, since it is all encompassing, Jeevan or Atma or this individual self should also be the same.
2. We see only with our eyes. We call something Rose. Some thing else we call Weed. When we see through the medium of Awareness or Gnanam, Rose is bliss and so is the Weed. Since we are not aware, we see one as Rose and the other as something else. In reality every thing is bliss only. The reason for our inability to percieve properly is due to the fact that, there is dirt in our minds and we lack the focus. When the mirror is shaking, the image can not be seen properly. In addition to the shaking, if there is also dust, the the image, will be far from reality. Since our minds are shaking, covered with dust and are out of focus, we never see the reality as, full of bliss.
3. If you tell a mad person, to hold a pen or a stick for ten minutes, he can not do it because he lacks the comprehension. We can do it. But we can not hold on to a thought, even for a short time. This mind in no time will have a thousand thoughts, running. We look down upon lunatics. Our own action is no different. Till we can have control over the mind we are also mad only. To the person who has this control over the mind, we will be seen to be or known to be raving mad. If our minds can be rid of the blemishes of, shake and dust and lack of focus, then we could have concentration. With that concentration, called, ' ekagratha ', or oneness of perception, truth will be seen.
4. How to remove these blemishes ? For us the main blemish is this body and our identification with it. This is resultant of our past sins. How did we commit those sins ? Starting with the wrong identification of thinking ourselves to be this body, we committed the sins by the body and mind. If you have to untie a knot, you have to go back the same way it is tied. Similerly, we have to take counter actions, to off set the sins, using the self same B O D Y. Let the hand which committed the sins of recieving, give alms. Let the eyes, which led you astray, see the devine, in temples and the nature. Let the ears which heard unholy sounds be used for hearing the praise of the Lord. Let the mouth which uttered the unutterables be used for chanting the 'Slokas' or psalms. Let the same body be used to remove the sins, and thereby take you to devine Gnanam and Anandam.
Sambhomahadeva.
